Drama
The Theatre Arts program gives students an opportunity to participate in supervised creative dramatic activities which include performances in front of an audience. Members will be exposed to different aspects of theatre including impromptu skits, the audition process, monologues, blocking, playwriting, and prop selection and use. The club will work on creative thinking skills, encourage teamwork, and provide students with enriched learning experiences in the area of the performing arts. This program is dedicated to bringing the joy and power of Drama to students by providing high quality dramatic programming at the beginner and intermediate levels. If acting on stage is not your thing, our Theatre Arts program also has opportunities for backstage and tech crew. Backstage crew members help at theatre productions and prepare everything before the show which includes props, scenery, cues and scene changes. The tech crew oversees the technical details such as lighting and sound, as well as in the creation, development and operation of a production from behind the scenes. No matter the role, the Theatre Arts program emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and perseverance and we welcome all to discover their talents!
